Company in Residence at UCO

We are thrilled to announce that we have moved home and are now resident theatre company at University Campus Oldham.  This is a great opportunity to expand our work with the support of the University where we both gained our Foundation Degrees in Performance.

UCO Outside2Tour Theatre’s new home – University Campus Oldham

Working with support from Performance tutor Tray Wilson and Technical Theatre tutor Paul Davies, we will be continuing to create original theatre that aims to be dynamic and create conversation. Missing 1994 is available 2Tour till August 2013 and continues to be enjoyed by audiences of all ages. We will be shortly going into research and development for our new performance piece set 2Tour from September through to 2014.

We now have two beautiful spaces to use at the university that means we are more accessible to our audience and participants who attend training classes with the company. Moving into 2013 we want to expand our audience and work with more young people in schools, colleges, universities and community groups. Our aim as a company is to “Inspire the future generation of theatre makers” and that ethos will continue to drive our work both on stage and in workshops.

 ‘I learnt what grooming was’

‘I think this workshop was good it helped us & I’ve learnt what to be aware of’

‘I’ve learnt to listen to your guardians & don’t trust strangers’

‘I learnt to be more cautious in relationships’

Yr 9 Students comments

Student comment 1IMG_5479

The workshop was a mixture of performance & drama activities. Participants met Stacey a student living in Oldham, Stacey appeared throughout the workshop & delivered a monologue about her life; the monologue was split into 4 sections. In between each section the students took part in drama activities & explored Stacey’s situation & created solutions.

We thoroughly enjoyed the performance workshop and are planning to take it to several schools & colleges around the local area. The feedback & comments we have received was fantastic & we were extremely impressed with the maturity & behaviour of Matthew Moss students.

We look forward to working with you again soon!

Meet the Hussains – A Community Film Project

“Meet the Hussain’s” was premiered at Oldham Youth Forum’s Family Fun Day over the Jubilee weekend.

“Meet the Hussain’s: An Oldham Family“, was created by Young Participants in the Coldhurst, Westwood and Chadderton areas of Oldham to help raise awareness of the issues their community is experiencing. The project was a great success with all the young people involved rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in.

The young people discussed, debated, planned, wrote, rehearsed, operated and performed the short film under supervision of 2Tour Theatre. The film was produced with Greek Bloke Productions who did a fantastic job in making “Meet the Hussain’s”, a very professional looking short film. Below is a short piece of film about the project produced by Andonis Anthony; Greek Bloke Productions.

“Meet the Hussain’s; An Oldham Family”
will be available in the near future, but for any further information about the project or the work that 2Tour Theatre does, please dont hesitate to email, phone or Tweet.
